🥇 Sammie Boster — IHSAA Sectional All-Around Champion! Chesterton’s own Sammie Boster delivered a championship performance at the IHSAA Crown Point Gymnastics Sectional, claiming the All-Around Title with a dominant score of 38.300. Starting the day in fourth after a 9.325 on floor, Sammie locked in and went to work — winning vault (9.550), tying for first on bars (9.600), and finishing with a statement beam routine that earned a spectacular 9.825. It was not only the highest score on beam, but the highest score of the entire meet in any event. Sammie entered the final rotation needing only to stay on the beam to win the all-around. She did far more than that — delivering her best beam of the season when the pressure was highest. Chesterton coach Christy Dzierba praised Sammie’s growth: “She’s more consistent. She’s solid. She hits everything. She is better than she was last year.” Sammie’s standout day placed her on the podium in four of the five ribbon ceremonies, and she now advances to the Portage Regional next Saturday at noon. 🟤 Team Highlights — Season-Best Score! It wasn’t just Sammie shining on Saturday. The Trojans posted their highest team total of the season — 104.550 points — finishing 5th of 13 schools in one of the state’s toughest sectionals. Key Performances: Leah Douglass – 33.450 All-Around (16th overall), 8.300 on vault, 8.100 on bars, and a strong 8.925 on beam — the best CHS score outside of Boster. Adriana Perez – 8.600 on floor (25th), continuing her consistent improvement. Coach Dzierba on the team effort: “They should be proud. This is one of the hardest sectionals in the state. They hung in and did very well.
