Tegan Werner Commits to Tufts University for Swimming Chesterton, IN — Chesterton High School is proud to announce that senior Tegan Werner has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Tufts University, where she will compete as a member of the swimming program. Werner, a dedicated member of the Chesterton Girls Swim & Dive team, has excelled both in the pool and in the classroom throughout her high school career. She will continue her academic journey at Tufts while competing at the collegiate level, where she is currently undecided on her field of study. During her time at Chesterton, Werner has been actively involved in both school and community activities. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has participated in the Duneland Swim Club while also giving back through YMCA swim lessons. In addition to swimming, Werner has been a multi-sport athlete, contributing to both the Swim Team and Track & Field programs. Her involvement in National Honor Society further reflects her commitment to academic excellence and leadership. Werner has earned recognition for her achievements in the classroom, including being named to the Principal’s Honor Roll and earning Scholar Athlete honors. Academically, Werner has maintained an outstanding 4.3 GPA, demonstrating her dedication to success at the highest level. At Tufts University, she will compete under the guidance of Head Coach Adam Hoyt and join a highly competitive program known for both its athletic and academic excellence. Tegan’s commitment, versatility, and academic achievement make her an outstanding representative of Chesterton High School.
