The Chesterton Trojans complete yet another sweep, this time it was a day-night twin billing with Michigan City that saw a 10-0 victory in the first game and an 18-4 beat down in the night cap. Logan Chestovich took the ball for the Trojans who were now the home team sporting the white uni's with maroon pinstripes lined in gold. The senior, right-hander tossed 3.1 innings recording two punch outs while scattering four hits and allowed only three earned runs in his first start to earn the victory for his squad. The Trojan bats continued to stay hot after the matinee, and they walloped 15 hits and touched the dish 18 times. Senior backstop, Lucas DeVore(3-4, RBI, K) devoured City pitching and stepped up in a big way at the plate as well as behind it. DeVore had three knocks and threw out a would-be base stealer in the first attempting to swipe second. DeVore singled sharply three times to tally a ribbie achieving the Offensive Player of the Game honors. Once again, the Trojans scored early and often in this one as they have done during their five-game winning streak. Chesterton went snowman in the first and third to go with sticks in the second and fourth to tally eighteen runs. The box score would sport a number other than zero in the hit column for every Trojan starter with exception of one player. I won't say who it was but if you follow the 2026 Chesterton Varsity Trojans baseball on the GameChanger app you can see for yourself as well as keep up with the exciting action of future Trojans baseball games. So the guys who recorded knocks other than the rake job DeVore put on were Rob Czarniecki(2-4, R, RBI, 2B, 3B), who hit the yellow fence guard at the top of the center field fence for a triple, Eli McClelland(2-3, 3R), Caden Hackett(2-4, R, 2RBI, 2B), G Kirkland(2-3, 3R, 3RBI, 2B), Cam Campbell(2-3, 2R, RBI, BB), who all had two hits each while Troy Barrett(1-3, R, BB, 2K) and John Knight(1-4, 2R, RBI, 2K, 2B) found their way into the H column with one hit a piece and Isaiah Prater(0-2, 3R, BB) scored three runs. Ethan Glassman(1.2IP, 4K) didn't hit but he did pitch the final inning and two-thirds striking out four of five City hitters who didn't need any help because they were just looking. The next game has the Trojans traveling to South Bend to take on the Eagles of Adams with a start time slated for 4:30 central time. The Trojans have won seven of the last eight and are 4-0 in the DAC and 8-3 overall
