The Chesterton boys golf team competed in a non-conference match on Wednesday night against Valparaiso at Sand Creek golf course. The team had another split squad night and fell to the visiting Vikings by eight strokes. The low man of the match was again junior Jake Bobin. Jake shot a 35 on the night that included an eagle on the par 5 6th hole. Bobin was par or better on the first eight holes but bogeyed #9 to end at one under par. Freshman Zac Racette shot a 41 on the evening with a very steady round. Another freshman, Massimo Popa, carded a 43 for his best nine holes on the young season. Rounding out the scoring for the Trojans was yet another freshman, Miles Mulcahy, with a 46. Mulcahy overcame a rocky two-hole stretch midround to finish his afternoon strong. Senior Drew Pacilio also competed for the Trojans on the evening carding a 49. The JV Trojans lost to Valpo 189-210. Mace Redman led the way on the JV side with a 47. Brady Stephan carded a 51, while Tyler Racette and Jaxson Schultz each shot a 56. Tony Mitchell came in at a 57.
