Chesterton JV Boys Shine in Meet with Crown Point

The Chesterton JV boys track team put together a strong night Friday against Crown Point, highlighted by wins in multiple events and solid depth across the board. Chesterton claimed relay victories in the 4x400 (3:51.26) with Aiden Caldwell, Bryan Huseman, Ian Black, and Cole Gilbert, and in the 4x800 (9:39.21) with Wyatt Lambersie, Colin Miller, Dom Orlando, and Carter Nadratowski. Chesterton also finished second in the 4x100 (48.46) with Nolan Marin, Nate Bolding, Brody Regier, and Tanner Glinski. On the track, Aiden Caldwell took third in the 100 (11.69), while Brody Regier and John Spanopoulos tied for fourth. Spanopoulos added a fourth-place finish in the 200 (24.90). Finnian Duffie placed second in the 400 (59.98), and Nathan Fernandez was runner-up in the 800 (2:12.70). The distance crew was strong once again, led by Colton Beckwith, who finished second in both the 1600 (4:48.80) and 3200 (10:23.91). Xander Sierazy was fourth in the 1600, while Aaron Pieters placed fifth. In the 3200, Andersen Himan took third. In the hurdles, Chesterton swept the top spots with Elijah Haas winning the 110 hurdles and Stephen Raffin taking first in the 300 hurdles, while Haas added third. In the field events, Elijah Schnarr won the high jump (5-8), while Ryan Baudler tied for second and also placed second in long jump (19-6.5). Cole Gilbert was third and Julian Blevins fourth in long jump. Chesterton also dominated the vault and throws. Jacob VanVleet won pole vault (10-6), with Regier tying for third. In discus, Chesterton swept the top five behind winner Malik Oueslati, followed by Gavin Connaway, Ryan Bradford, Landon Keene, and Dominic Sylvester. In shot put, Carson Hollingsworth won, while Mason Donahue, James Vaulx, and Leland Skube all finished in the top five.
