Chesterton High School is proud to announce that senior Allyson Schmitt has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Indiana University–Indianapolis, where she will compete as a member of the cheerleading program. Schmitt has demonstrated strong dedication to both her academics and extracurricular involvement throughout her time at Chesterton. She plans to pursue a degree in exercise science while continuing her athletic career at the collegiate level. During her time at Chesterton, Schmitt has been involved in a variety of activities across multiple areas. She participated in cheerleading during her freshman year, was a member of the dance team as a junior, and competed in lacrosse during her senior year. In addition, she has been an active member of the Red Cross Club during her junior and senior years, showing a commitment to service and community involvement. Schmitt has also earned academic recognition for her work in the classroom, including High Honor Roll, Principal’s Honor Roll, and earning her Work Ethic Certification. She has maintained a strong 3.6 GPA, reflecting her dedication to academic success. At Indiana University–Indianapolis, she will compete under the direction of Head Coach Diana Ferretti and join a program that emphasizes both athletic excellence and school spirit. Allyson’s versatility, work ethic, and commitment to involvement make her an outstanding representative of Chesterton High School.
