Chesterton Boys Track Competes At JV DAC Meet

Chesterton’s JV boys track and field team turned in several strong performances at the JV DAC meet on Saturday. Daniel Chavez placed seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.83. Noah Haubold finished third in the 400 in 53.66, while Nolan Marin took fifth in the 200 in 23.99. In the 800, Max Redman placed fourth in 2:11.03 and Finnian Duffie finished fifth in 2:11.09. Chesterton also had three runners place in the top seven of the 1600, led by Xander Sierazy in third at 4:54.84. Aaron Pieters finished fourth in 4:56.05, while Jake Billings took seventh in 4:56.94. Colton Beckwith won the 3200 in 10:45.86, and Andersen Himan placed fifth in 11:02.46. Kevin Landers finished fifth in the 110 hurdles in 18.68 and added an eighth-place finish in the 300 hurdles in 48.07. Chesterton won the 4x100 relay in 44.66 behind the team of Aiden Caldwell, Julian Blevins, John Spanopoulos, and Daniel Chavez. The Trojans also finished second in the 4x400 relay in 3:43.86 with Ian Black, Aiden Caldwell, Alex Vasquez, and Cole Gilbert. Chesterton won the 4x800 relay in 9:00.51 behind the team of Colton Beckwith, Finnian Duffie, Max Redman, and Colin Miller. A second Trojan relay team of Londyn Cohen, Mason Kubath, Carter Nadratowski, and Elijah Fletcher also placed third in 9:18.59. In the field events, Kevin Landers tied for second in the high jump by clearing 5-8. Elijah Schnarr tied for fourth at 5-6, while Ryan Baudler tied for eighth at 5-4. Baudler also finished seventh in the long jump with a mark of 18-11.5. Jacob VanVleet placed second in the pole vault at 11-6, while Nolan Marin and Tanner Glinski tied for seventh at 9-0. Ryan Bradford finished seventh in discus with a throw of 105-9, and Gavin Connaway placed eighth at 102-11. Chesterton swept the top two spots in the shot put as Christian Melton won with a throw of 42-4.25 and Carson Hollingsworth finished second at 41-11.5. Mason Donahue added a fifth-place finish at 36-6.25, while James Vaulx was sixth at 36-5.5.
