Carson Chaffee Signs National Letter of Intent to Continue Volleyball Career at Franklin College Chesterton High School Athletics is proud to announce that senior Carson Chaffee has signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Franklin College, where he will compete in men’s volleyball. Chaffee plans to major in Athletic Training while continuing his development both on and off the court. Although relatively new to the sport, Chaffee made a tremendous impact on the Chesterton boys volleyball program in just two seasons. After joining the program during his junior year, he quickly established himself through hard work, dedication, and relentless competitiveness. During his senior season, he served as one of the team captains while playing middle blocker and outside hitter. Head coach Cathy Dilbeck praised Chaffee’s growth and commitment throughout his time in the program. “I have had a short but the most fulfilling pleasure coaching Carson Chaffee this past boys volleyball season. Carson is late to volleyball, only joining the high school team his junior year. In just one year, Carson has shown dedication, determination, and immense growth in the sport. His work ethic, competitiveness, and commitment to improving every day allowed him to maximize his potential and become the best player he could in this short amount of time. Because of his hard work, Carson will continue to play volleyball at Franklin College where we get to see him take his development and athleticism to the next level. I am so lucky and proud of getting the opportunity to coach him this past season and I look forward to watching him play in college! Thank you Carson for being the reason why I love to coach!” In addition to volleyball, Chaffee has been involved in numerous activities during his time at Chesterton High School, including Best Buddies, peer tutoring for special needs students, and an internship at Rush Physical Therapy in Valparaiso. He also participated in KeAloha Club Volleyball and previously played baseball.
