**Three Trojans Earn Times & Post-Tribune All-Area Baseball Honors** The postseason accolades continue to roll in for the Chesterton High School baseball program as three Trojans were recognized by *The Times* and *Post-Tribune* on the 2026 All-Area Baseball Team following another outstanding season. Leading the way were seniors **Rob Czarniecki** and **Troy Barrett**, who were both named **First Team All-Area**, recognizing them among the top baseball players in Northwest Indiana. Junior catcher **Caden Hackett** also earned **Honorable Mention All-Area** honors after another strong season behind the plate for the Trojans. The All-Area recognition adds to an already impressive list of accomplishments for Chesterton's standout trio. Earlier this season, Barrett and Czarniecki were each selected to the **All-Duneland Athletic Conference First Team** after helping lead the Trojans to the **2026 Duneland Athletic Conference Championship**. Barrett was named the **DAC Most Valuable Pitcher**, while Czarniecki shared **DAC Co-Position Player of the Year** honors, highlighting the impact both seniors had throughout the season. Their performances also earned them selection to the **Indiana North-South All-Star Team**. Unfortunately, due to prior commitments, both players were unable to participate in the annual all-star event. Czarniecki enjoyed one of the finest offensive seasons in program history, batting **.500** with **47 hits, 29 RBIs, seven home runs, 11 doubles, six triples, and 40 runs scored**. He was the offensive catalyst for the DAC Champion Trojans and concluded his high school career as one of the premier outfielders in the state. This fall, Rob will continue his academic and athletic career at the **University of Kentucky**. Barrett was equally dominant both on the mound and at the plate. He finished the season with a **10-1 record**, a **0.56 ERA**, and **102 strikeouts** in 50 innings while also batting **.415** with 34 hits and 19 RBIs. He closed out his outstanding Trojan career with a **24-3 record**, a career ERA below 1.00, and **280 career strikeouts**. This fall, Troy will continue his academic and athletic career at **Purdue University**. Hackett's Honorable Mention selection recognizes another outstanding campaign for the junior catcher, who played a key role both offensively and defensively for a Trojans team that captured the DAC Championship and enjoyed another successful season. **"We're incredibly proud of Rob, Troy, and Caden for the recognition they've earned,"** said Assistant Athletic Director Tommy Berry. **"These honors are a testament to the countless hours they've invested in their craft and the commitment they've made to our baseball program. Rob and Troy capped off remarkable careers with conference MVP honors, All-Area recognition, and North-South All-Star selections, while Caden continues to establish himself as one of the area's top players. We look forward to watching Rob compete at Kentucky and Troy at Purdue while Caden continues to help lead our program. Just as importantly, these individual accolades reflect the success of our entire team, coaching staff, and the culture that has been built within Chesterton Baseball."** Congratulations to **Rob Czarniecki**, **Troy Barrett**, **Caden Hackett**, Head Coach **John Bogner**, and the entire Chesterton Baseball program on an outstanding season and these well-deserved honors. **#OnwardTrojans**
