New IHSAA Personal Branding Activity (PBA) Guidelines The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) has adopted Rule 5-7 – Personal Branding Activities (PBA) beginning with the 2026-27 school year. This new bylaw allows student-athletes to participate in certain personal branding opportunities—such as endorsements, sponsorships, social media promotions, appearances, camps, and clinics—while protecting their amateur status and athletic eligibility. The IHSAA has developed educational resources to help student-athletes and families understand what is permitted, what is prohibited, and the reporting requirements under the new rule. Before You Participate Before entering into any endorsement, sponsorship, appearance, social media promotion, or compensation agreement, student-athletes and parents are strongly encouraged to review the resources below and contact the Chesterton High School Athletic Department with any questions. Because every Personal Branding Activity is unique, eligibility determinations are made by the IHSAA on a case-by-case basis.
