Bob Dille, Class of 1935 Inducted posthumously, was a forward and three-year captain of the Chesterton basketball team, a standout pitcher for the baseball team and a cross country runner. A multi-year All-American basketball player for a Valparaiso University squad known as “The World’s Tallest Team,” Dille was MVP of The College All-Star Classic, where he teamed with huge names George Mikan, Otto Graham, Whizzer White and Bob Kurland. He played one year of professional basketball and coached for 31 years, winning the 1974 state title at Fort Wayne Northrup.
