The Chesterton Boys Cross Country varsity finished second to defending New Prairie Regional Champion Northridge on Saturday August 22nd at Sunset Hill Farm County Park. Ryan Nix led the Trojans with a 2nd place. Also scoring were Spencer Martin (5th); Xander Sierazy (9th); Aaron Pieters (10th); and, Nathan Fernandez (29th). Chesterton finished 15 points behind Northridge and 5 points ahead of 3rd place Wawasee. The reserves also had a good showing, finishing third in a tight three way battle with Lake Central and Northridge. Mason Kubeth (5th) led the team, finishing 5th. Both squads put four runners in the top ten! Getting a fifth runner closer to the front will be the team's focus going forward for sure! Also noteworthy almost every runner improved upon their Tuesday result! Next Saturday is the Rudy Skarupa Invitaional at Lake Central.
