The Chesterton Girls Cross Country team had a strong showing at the Penn Invite Hokum Karem, putting together an impressive team performance and coming away with the individual relay championship. Leading the way were Hannah Haring and Natalie White, who were crowned Hokum Karem Relay Champions with a combined time of 36:05.65. The duo ran an outstanding race, setting the tone for the Lady Trojans and claiming the top spot in the competitive relay field. Chesterton showed its depth with two additional relay teams finishing among the top 11 teams in the field. Natalie Williams and Paige Clancy teamed up for Chesterton’s second relay, crossing the finish line in 37:45.77 to finish sixth. Natascha Lepinasse and Aubrey Fortsythe represented Chesterton’s third relay team, finishing 11th in 39:35.58. The three strong relay performances helped Chesterton earn a second-place team finish with 18 points, finishing just behind host Penn, which scored 12 points. From the first runner to the last, the Lady Trojans competed with determination and pushed themselves throughout the race. Every athlete contributed to the team's performance by stepping outside her comfort zone, fighting through the difficult portions of the race, and continuing to compete for the girls running alongside her. The Hokum Karem format creates a unique challenge, requiring teammates to work together and push one another from start to finish. That team mentality was evident throughout the Chesterton lineup. The girls didn't simply race for their own times, they raced for their teammates and for the team as a whole.
