The Chesterton Boys' Cross Country Team travelled to Lake Central High School Saturday to run the Rudy Skorupa Inviational. For the second week, the recent storm affected the races as the course at the high school was unrunnable. Instead the races were run at Hal E. Clark Middle School on a three loop course that was flat but deceptively challenging! Ryan Nix led from start to finish and cloekd as season best time of 15:51! Aaron Pieters also finished in the top ten, clocking 17:01. Xander Sierazy; Colton Beckwith; and, Nathan Fernandez rounded out the scoring to fhe Trojans. The team finished second to a talented young Crown Point team! The Reserves were led by freshman Robert Hundt, who clocked a lifetime best of 19:15. Robert is the younger brother of recent graduate Ray Hundt, and he seems to have inherited his older brother's talent and tenacity! The Reserves finished 3rd. The team is in action next weekend at the Marion invitational in Marion, Indiana. This is traditiionally a fast, competivie, invitational.
