The Chesterton Boys finished 5th in the Terry Lakes Elete Varsity Race at the Marion Invitational on Saturday which is held on the traditionally fast Indiana Weslyian course. Ryan Nix again led the Trojans with an excellent 5th place in a time of 15:34.2. He becomes the fastest Trojan runner on a known course since All-State runner Jakob Kintzle in 2017. Also scoring fot the varsity were Spencer Martin (10th); Xander Sierazy (26th); Aaron Pieters (39th); and,, Nathan Fernandez (49th). The varsity continues to be without senior runner Nick Jakel who is recovering from an untimely injuty, however he continues to make progress towards recovery. Junior Jake Billings won the reserve race for the Trojans, with freshman Robert Hundt and junior Colin Miller also in the top 10. The team put five runners in the top 14 and would have easily won the reserve race had team scores been kept. The team is in action twice thsi week: First at the Couger Kick Off Classic at New Prairie on Tuesday, then at the Eagle Classic in Nashville Indiana on Saturday.
