The Chesterton girls cross country team took on one of its biggest challenges of the season, lining up against a field loaded with some of the top-ranked teams and individuals in Indiana. The competition included Carmel and Lake Central, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the state, along with Zionsville (No. 6), Floyd Central (No. 7), Hamilton Southeastern (No. 10), Morgan Township (No. 18), North Central (No. 22), and Center Grove (No. 25). Chesterton answered the challenge with a strong team effort, placing five runners inside the top 85 of the highly competitive field. Leading the way for the Trojans were juniors Hannah Haring and Natalie White, who finished nearly side-by-side in 19:45.5 and 19:46.8, respectively. Both runners recorded personal records, continuing their strong progression throughout the season. Haring placed 35th overall, while White followed in 37th. Junior Natalie Williams also delivered a breakthrough performance, running a personal-record 20:05.3 to finish 48th overall. Senior Natascha Lepinasse followed with another personal record, crossing the finish line in 20:20.2 for 60th place. Rounding out Chesterton's top five was junior Paige Clancy, who ran 20:47.4 to place 84th. Chesterton also received strong performances from senior Grace Basich and junior Kate Meyer. Basich ran 23:26.4, finishing 146th, while Meyer posted a 23:19.5 to place 144th. Both contributed to the team's overall effort in a field that featured many of Indiana's top programs. Chesterton's top five runners combined for a 224-point team score, with all five finishing within just over a minute of one another. The tight grouping demonstrates the team's growing depth as the season moves toward the championship portion of the schedule. With the postseason approaching, the Trojans continue to gain valuable experience racing against elite competition while building confidence and momentum for the championship season.
