The Chesterton Lady Trojans hosted Portage on Monday night. Midway through the first half, senior Asia McClelland swung the momentum in Chesterton’s direction with an interception, which set the offense up at the Portage fifteen yard line. Izzy Harvey connected with Lexi Gano to put the Trojans in the lead. Portage would even the score on their next drive, but Harvey and Gano connected yet again for a touchdown soon after, and the Trojans wouldn’t surrender the lead for the rest of the evening. Izzy Harvey would toss two more touchdowns, one to Taylor Mayle, and another to Annebell Haas, and the defense pitched a shutout the rest of the way, with the game ending in a final score of 26-6. Izzy Harvey finished the night 16/21 with 169 yards through the air, her season total now over 1000 yards. Harper Russell led the ground attack, carrying the ball eight times for fifty-one yards. Taylor Mayle caught her third touchdown pass of the season, and her fourth extra point of the season. The Chesterton defensive unit snagged two more interceptions in the game, one by Lexi Gano, and a near pick-six by Maddy Vickers. Isabelle Kish lead the defense with six flag pulls, while also recording a sack. Annebell Haas made an impact on both sides of the ball, pitching in five flag pulls and two pass breakups on defense, as well as four catches for thirty-eight yards, a touchdown and a one point conversion on offense.
