The Chesterton Lady Trojans had a strong day at the Highland Invite, finishing third as a team in a competitive field. Hannah Haring once again led the way for Chesterton, running a strong 19:27.25 (PR) to finish 10th overall. Right behind her was Natalie White, who ran 19:29.76 (PR) to place 13th. Natascha Lepinasse continued her strong season as well, finishing 15th in 19:45.41 (PR). Having three girls in the top 15 gave us a great start to the race. Natalie Williams followed with a 28th-place finish in 20:26.74, while Paige Clancy rounded out the scoring five in 32nd with a 20:42.33. Having all five of our scorers under 20:45 was a really positive part of the day. One of the biggest positives from the meet was seeing so many girls run season-best times and/or personal records. We are at the point in the season where we want to see the work from the last several weeks start to show up in races, and we saw that from a lot of our athletes at Highland. Seeing girls continue to improve, compete with confidence and run times they haven't run all season is exactly what we want heading into the postseason. We also had some strong efforts from the rest of the team. Eshaal Ali ran 21:29.94 PR), Aubrey Forsythe finished in 21:51.66 (SB), and Poppy Payne ran 21:56.13 (SB). Every girl continues to play an important role in making this team better. Overall, it was a good step forward for our team. We still have things we need to improve, but the girls are working hard, racing for one another and continuing to get better.
