Chesterton Varsity Boys XC Earns Runner-Up Finish at DAC Championship October 3, 2026 The Chesterton Boys Cross Country team placed 2nd at the Duneland Athletic Conference Championship meet, hosted by Michigan City High School on the Purdue Northwest Westville Campus course. Senior Ryan Nix continued his outstanding season, leading the Trojans with a 2nd-place finish in a time of 16:10.06. His performance earned him All-DAC honors. Fellow senior Spencer Martin also earned All-DAC recognition with a strong 3rd-place finish in 16:36.96. After battling injuries over the past two seasons, Martin looked healthy and competitive throughout the race. Aaron Pieters was the Trojans' third scorer, placing 19th in 17:31.95. With the DAC Championship now complete, Chesterton turns its attention to the postseason. The Trojans will begin IHSAA Tournament competition at the Sectional on October 17 at Sunset Hill Farm County Park. JV Boys Harriers Shine at DAC Championship October 3, 2026 While a team championship is not officially awarded in the JV race at the DAC Cross Country Championships, the Chesterton Reserve Boys Team would have easily claimed the title, scoring an impressive 27 points, well ahead of the second-place team's 65 points. Competing on the Purdue Northwest Westville Campus Course hosted by Michigan City High School, the Trojans placed five runners among the top 15 finishers and dominated the front of the field. Chesterton was led by sophomore Ryan Seaman, who captured the individual championship with a winning time of 18:03.82. Close behind was junior Andersen Himan, who finished second in 18:09.34, giving the Trojans the top two spots in the race. Another pair of Chesterton runners soon crossed the finish line as Elijah Fletcher placed sixth in 18:29.13, followed by Mason Kubath, who finished seventh in 18:39.80. Rounding out the Trojans' top five was Ben Heistand, who earned an 11th-place finish with a time of 18:45.27. It was an outstanding conclusion to the JV season, showcasing the depth and strength of Chesterton's boys cross country program.
