The Chesterton Boys secured their first state meet appearance in four years on Saturday at the New Prairie Regional by a single point. The Trojans were led by Ryan Nix who finished third overall, running 15:46. Spencer Martin continued his season-long improvement clocking 15:57, good enough for 7th place. Xander Sierazy (17:21); Aaron Pieters (17:32); and, Max Redman (17:34) rounded out the scoring. Nathan Fernandez (17:35); and, Eli Fletcher (17:37) were close behind. Coach O'Connor commented that he witnessed several Trojans pass runners over the last 100 meters and that proved to be decisive. The team will travel to Terre Haute next weekend for the state championship meet at the LaVeern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
