Girls Varsity Tennis heads to the Logan Invitational today at 9:00 AM CDT at Logansport High School. Come out and support the Trojans as they compete! ONWARD TROJANS! Loogansport Admin Information: Logansport Invitational Tennis Tournament 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11th TEAMS: Benton Central, Carroll, Lewis Cass, LaPorte Logansport, Chesterton, Rossville, Twin Lakes SCHEDULE: 9:15 AM Coaches’ Meeting 10:00 AM First Round 12:30 PM Second Round Main Draw 2:00 PM Consolation Matches 3:30 PM Consolation Finals 4:30 PM Championship Matches - Times listed are tentative. Play will continue as courts become available. - Eastern Standard Time SITE: Logansport High School (10 courts) FORMAT: Each position (1S, 2S, 3S, 1D & 2D) will compete in their respective brackets and play three times. Main and back draw matches will consist of best two out of three sets. As per IHSAA rules, ALL matches will use a super tie-breaker in place of a third set, if necessary. (first to 10, win by 2) Players losing first round matches will compete in the consolation bracket. A 20-minute break between matches will be guaranteed, unless both players agree to play sooner. New balls will be issued for ALL matches. New balls will not be issued for a super-tiebreaker. Both the winner AND loser should report scores to the site director and turn in the balls. At no time should a player leave the campus during the tournament. If a match is called to the court, a player has five minutes to report. If a player fails to report, she forfeits the match. SCORING Winner of Matches 1-4 (First Round) = 4 points Winner of Matches 5-6 (Second Round) = 5 points Winner of Matches 7-8 (Consolations) = 2 points Winner of Matches 9-10 (Cons. Finals) = 1 point Winner of Match 11 (3rd Place Match) = 3 points Winner of Match 12 (Championship) = 6 points LINE UP: Once play has begun, no substitutions will be allowed until that position has one loss. Substitutions are only allowed after a position has lost a match and therefore, removed itself from the main draw. AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to the individual winners at each position: 1S, 2S, 3S, 1D, and 2D. The school with the most team points will be awarded a team trophy. Tiebreakers are applied in order until a winner is identified: Head to head match-ups between the teams. Number of position champions. Place of #1 Singles position.
